Amidst all disheartenment in his immediate environment,
AY-Love still intend to change the look
of comedy and draw corporate bodies to invest into entertainment in Ondo
state. Born January 26, 1988 into a family of 6 in Ondo state and christened Ayokunlemi
Akinborewa. AY-Love is from a Christian background, his parents are teachers
and as well pastors in Redeemed Christian Church of God. As a lover of Love
lyrics and poem, his class mates way back in secondary school gave him AY-Love as
a byname.
AY-Love attended St. Raphael Kiddies School for his
Primary school education then Adeyemi Demonstration Secondary School. He bagged
a Bachelor of Science(B.Sc) degree from Adekunle Ajasin University
Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State from the department of Chemistry. The formal
didactics he received did not deter him as his natural endowment radiates within
him. AY-Love is fond of saying funny
things amongst family and friends. He does odd things to make people around him
laugh. Comedy, to him, is an inborn tendency. He performs naturally without
prior rehearsal because it’s what he does like every other day.
At the outset of his career as a neophyte, after he made
up his mind to bring what he has been doing in his closet to the open. He was
faced with the challenge of breaking into his environment as those around him doubt his ability to compere an event. While honing his craft, he
performed at Davidic dance, Who sabi laff pass, Contagious lafta, Good 2go and Dance on the altar. Without experienced comedian around to guide him, he tutored
himself on how to crack up his audience.
Ayokunlemi, however, has performed in events like Miss Ekinmogun, Campus Revolution concert, Miss
Sunshine, MAD (Making a
Difference) to name a few. He has been able to organize shows like UNLIMITED LAFTA, ON
THE EAGLE’S WINGS(MUSICAL/COMEDY CONCERT) ATARI AJANAKU. He pictures himself growing
up to be one of the most celebrated comedian and “AY-Love” becoming a house-hold
name. He intends to organize mind-blowing
events that would linger in people’s mind for long thereby attracting interested people to
invest in entertainment in Ondo state and at the same time bringing the sunshine state to limelight.
