[POST] FANCY B

“That one thing that arouses me even while I’m down is music because of the passion and love I have for the art.” – Fancy B

Oluwafemi Oyelakin Peter is an indigene of Oyo State and Ibadan Precisely. Oluwafemi also known as Fancy B spent his Childhood days in Challenge area of Ibadan, the hood he will always pay homage to. His stage name “Fancy B” was borne out of friends making jest of his black skin colour, the word “Fancy” in it came up in his reply to them by saying they Fancy his black skin colour.

As it is for so many artists, Oluwafemi never had his mum’s backing for his music career when he started out singing at the age of 17. As a strong willed Gemini he held on to what gives him happiness and what he derives pleasure in. Fancy B attended Omolara Primary School, Felele in Ibadan, he was about to make his transition to high school when he relocated to Lagos with his dad where he completed his secondary school education. He attended Citizen Secondary School, Ikorodu Lagos where he got more encouragements to do what he loves to do best.

Fancy B was tutored by Dam Kool, a multi talented music Producer, based in Ibadan, who saw the fire blazing in him to do music. Dam Kool picked him up, brushed up his skills and amalgamated him and the microphone.

Fancy B loves listening to music and reading as well. His mission in the music industry is to bring wind of change and change the face of music to the best he can, he wants to be like those that brought changes and something new to listen to the industry. He idolizes some of topmost Nigerian rappers and singer; talking about the likes of Mode 9, Vector, MI and 2face Idibia.

He sees himself on top of most “Naija Music chart” and going on musical tour in the next 3 years.
